I went through the topic but I didnโt go in-depth. I will try to cover the basic aspect of the topic called โFAPIโ. 5G core consisting of the Access and Mobility Function(AMF), User Plane Function(UPF) and the 5G NodeB(gNB).
Note: 5G- FAPI resides within the gNB element. The standard interface in the 5G network is called NG, Xn &b F1.
For 5G FAPI the MAC and PHY reside as a single element resulting in FAPI existing as an internal interface within the gNB.
I know this isnโt much to understand the proposed topic trust me Iโm still working on it to understand and able to update this article down in my words in a very simple and straightforward way so that a layman also grasps it out easily. I hope the above mention points make everyone have a flavor about what is FAPI all about and why itโs needed??!
